Join us Thursday, October 10th for the opening reception of ANIMALIA, a solo exhibition featuring Alex Beard.
Oil on canvas and ink on paper originals. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Watering Hole Foundation to help endangered species and the wildernesses in which they live.
A nature enthusiast, Alex Beard is motivated by differing cultures, colors, and climates that have influenced both his professional and artistic practice. While procuring his BA from Tufts University, he studied painting and drawing at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. In his early twenties, Alex moved to New Orleans to continue with his formal training at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts.
Energized by the curiosity of cultures and untamed life, Alex consumed much of his life traveling to the world’s most remote natural life outposts — paintbrush in hand. His exposure to nature empowers him to ceaselessly sharpen his style — creating complex compositions where conceptual and figuration collide while investigating subjects of cultural and environment interconnectivity.
An American painter is widely known for his intricate wildlife compositions created in his signature style of gestural painting which he has coined “Abstract Naturalism”. Alex is known for pursuing things he cherishes and endeavors to share the joy he derives from it with as many individuals as possible.
Join us this Thursday, October 10th for the opening reception of ANIMALIA. The exhibition runs October 10 – November 7th.
