It’s that time of year again! Join us Thursday, December 5th, 6–8 pm for ANFA’s
annual Small Works Show and Holiday Pop-Up. We will feature work by new artists,
as well as gallery favorites. Perfect for gift giving, the exhibition will provide
a chance to see a range of artistic styles on display throughout the gallery.
We will have new work from Michael Barringer, Sarah Gayle Carter, Jeff Erickson,
Allison James, Stephanie King, Hannah Lane, Anne Neilson, Trudi Norris,
Van Ivey Ceramics, Adele Yonchak and more! Kristin Hayes Jewelry,
Laura James Jewelry and Jillian Gray Collection will also be on site to help
with your Christmas shopping.

Standing Still

Join us Thursday, November 14th for the opening reception of STANDINGSTILL, a solo exhibition featuring Marcy Gregg. Renowned for her distinctive abstract paintings which spring from a love of color and line, this exhibition will feature all new works by Marcy, including a series of still lifes.

Artist Statement: “As life takes its turns, so does my art. Through the process of surrendering, I was able to step outside my abstracts and additionally create a very meaningful collection of still life pieces. It was in the stillness of my studio that a new perspective was found, both in spirit and style.”

Join us Thursday, October 10th for the opening reception of ANIMALIA, a solo exhibition featuring Alex Beard. Animalia is a celebration of animals that have been seen and loved by Alex. From the bayous of South Louisiana to the jungles of India, the African Bush, and beyond. Oil on canvas and ink on paper originals. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Watering Hole Foundation to help endangered species and the wildernesses in which they live.  

The exhibition runs October 10–November 7th.

group exhibition featuring landscape artists, Stuart Coleman Budd, Sarah Gayle

Terrell and Sally Veach. Demonstrating the classic imagery of landscape through
both contemporary and traditional perspectives.

Form, Figure, Gesture

Form, Figure, Gesture
 brings together four artists, Bonnie Goldberg, Lisa Moore,
Gail Ragains, and Daniela Schweitzer, in a group exhibition to explore individual
interpretations of the human figure. Variations in pose, movement, and form
demonstrate complexities and bring energy and emotion to the artwork. Please

Anne Neilson Fine Art presents Southern Accents: fresh. fearless. female.,
a group exhibition featuring six female artists, Caroline Boykin, McKenzie Dove,
Kerry Hays, Hannah Lane, Trudi Norris, and Adele Yonchak. Finding inspiration
from their Southern roots, the exhibition will include all new paintings ranging
in style, color, and composition. From mixed-media collage to layered abstracts,
the show presents a versatile body of work created by women of the South!

Anne Neilson Fine Art presents OLLY OLLY OXEN FREE, a two-person exhibition
featuring new, individual and
collaborative works by Memphis artists, Stephanie
King and Pam McDonnell.

The playful paintings created by King and McDonnell started in 2017 with the idea
of an over/under game. Olly olly oxen free is a phrase used in children’s games to
indicate that players who are hiding can safely come out in the open. In addition
to collaborative artworks the artists will present eleven additional pieces directly
influenced by the work King and McDonnell have done together. The duo feels
this forward/backward creative process embraces the act of working together to
create singular pieces of art. Join us Thursday, March 14th from 6-8pm for the
opening reception.

William McLure Solo Exhibition

Event date: Feb 7, 2019

William McLure’s newest body of work exudes a distinguished style of painterly freedom and vitality. His distinctive vocabulary of geometric and organic shapes fill the canvas in loose, flowing patterns and spontaneous brushstrokes. The newest collection of mixed media paintings will highlight William’s innate creativity and eminent style, developed through an appreciation and understanding of art and design. The exhibition runs February 7th–March 7th.

Through The Lens: A Photography Exhibition

THROUGH THE LENS, ANFA’s first photography exhibition will feature a group of talented photographers, Fred Bettin, Edwina Willis Fleming, Thomas Hager, Josef Hoflehner, Pam Moxley, Laurie Tennent, Dean West and Ben Winkler. Each artist presents a unique vision captured through their lens that demonstrates new ways of seeing an image on paper. Exhibition runs January 10th-February 2nd.
